The 6 month Milestone

I remember growing up and always feeling like ___ years and a HALF always seemed so much older and mature than just the year alone. Well, now after having a child a half of a year it is pretty darn significant if you ask me. We often get asked and told "You have survived the first six months" or "Wow you have made it through the hardest part of parenting"....I see it as we have ENJOYED the best 6 months of our lives as a family.  It hasn't been survival, it has been fun, enjoyable and filled with a lot of love, laughs and cherished memories already.

The past month has seemed monumental for little buddy....so much has changed and he is truly becoming his own little person, so here's the past month-
6 months with Hungry Hungry

- He eats like a champ and now has tried and LOVED- rice cereal, oatmeal, mixed grain cereal, pears, bananas, butternut squash, apple, avocado, sweet potato, green beans, peaches, carrots and mango.

Apples

- Also, loves chewing on frozen food in a mesh feeder

- Mum Mums and Puffs are like "baby happy pills"

- Likes drinking from a cup...not the most successful way of drinking and very messy, but fun

- Rolls tummy to back one way over and over again, and rolls back to side...progress I tell you for our little guy who just likes to stay put wherever you put him

- Puts in his pacifier on his own, usually backwards or upside down!

- Had his 2nd cold, BOO

- Uses his big boy duck bath and loves it, also took a big bath with Daddy

- Is our little fish, began swim lessons with Cousin Benjamin

- Used a highchair in a restaurant for the 1st time

- Had his first haircut by Mommy

- 1st hand stamp at the library story time

- Pats and drums on everything

- Had his first trip to the zoo

- Watched his 1st Superbowl and cheered on the winning team

- Began reaching for "up" when he wants to be picked up

- Sits independently and for the most part doesn't tumble over and is by far his preference for playing now

- Goes on family bike rides in his bike trailer

- Helps Mommy watch another baby during the day now
Ella and Carson

- Celebrating Cousin Benjamin's 1st Birthday and Valentine's Day

- And a BIG one, now falls asleep on his own...no more rocking and making the dreaded transfer!

As, you can see he has been really busy exploring and growing. We celebrated 6 months with cake...for us not him, but he definitely wanted it. Soon, enough we will be celebrating the year mark and little buddy can have his cake too!

Cousin Benjamin Turns 1

Carson's cousin Benjamin turned a BIG 1 this past weekend!  We have loved watching Benjamin grow over the year and it has been so fun to watch the boys together.  The coming years will even get more fun as the boys grow and play together! Benjamin's party was filled with all things a boy turning one would love...
Friends and family, sunny weather, a new slide, balloons, fun new toys and CAKE! By far the most entertaining one year old eating cake. Benjamin is such a ham and it was so fun watching him chow down!
Here are a few favorite photos from the day...

Happy Birthday Benjamin, we love you!

5 months

Carson is now a big 5 month old, and even harder to believe next month will mark 1/2 a year with our little sweet boy.  I felt like between 3 and 4 months nothing major changed other than better sleep (which we have since lost), but boy between 4 and 5 months SO much has changed in our little guy.  To me he is totally a little boy now with personality and all and so much fun to be around, not that he wasn't before, but now he really is!

All our new tricks, adventures and milestones we can remember....

- We think the start of our first tooth might be coming through, can see a little white mark that our pediatrician noticed at his 4 mos check up
1st rice cereal

- He LOVES his food and can't seem to get enough of it, before 5 months he tried rice cereal, pears, butternut squash, bananas and avocado
- Finally, we got rid of the swaddle at night, it was time for our baby to sleep like a big boy, although I do miss my baby burrito
- On his tummy is reaching and grabbing for toys and anything within close proximity
- Began passing toys from one hand to another

- Loves people's faces and grabbing your nose and mouth and even more so loves you pretending to "eat" his hands, thinks this is hysterical
- Is now a cloth diaper baby, and has a pretty darn cute bottom now too!

- Sits pretty well on his own with a few wobbles
His all time favorite toy

- Enjoys swings at the park and in general being outside
Family snow day

- Our dog and cats are the best entertainment in his mind

- Giggles and smiles so much more

LOVE, LOVE this boy!
